Lenovo Might Set Off Windows 8 Tablet Revolution

March 17, 2012, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

It would definitely surprise you hearing that Lenovo would be the first firm to introduce a Windows 8 tablet. Actually, we were shocked the moment our source said this hot piece of information.

The new rumor should be read with much seriousness as Michael Dell has declared that his company will introduce a new business tablet on the same day Windows 8 is scheduled to reach its customers. So the picture is very clear.

We could witness tight competition between various firms as Microsoft’s new operating system hits the ground running. In the meantime, Lenovo is expected to introduce a new slate running on Windows 8, the latest OS from Microsoft, which would happen to be the first slate to feature Windows 8.

The company relies on the fact that the OS will be out as early as October 2012, and we could see the device soon after the release. Our source was reluctant to say anything on the new tablet from Lenovo, but if it is what we saw during the CES, it is powered by an Intel chipset, and bears the name Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga.

It features 13.3 inch supreme quality display, and a keypad capable of flipping through 360 degrees around a hinge. The device looks fantastic at first glance.

Besides Lenovo and Dell, HP, Nokia, Asus and other majors also have a keen interest on Windows 8 devices. It’s yet to be confirmed whether an update will come for devices running on Windows 7.

The new Windows OS is expected to be a major hit in the market.
