Nokia 808 PureView to Get a WP Variant

March 5, 2012, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

We have told you earlier how Nokia made its presence felt in the Mobile World Congress at Barcelona in Spain, memorable with the launch of not only Lumia 610, but also a crazy camera – cum- smartphone device, dubbed Nokia 808 PureView.

We wondered what to call it, a revival to the old and deserted Symbian platform or a salute to shutter bugs from the Finnish company or just another crazy design idea from the age old Smartphone manufacturer.

Whatever is the case, now emerging reports suggest that the Nokia Pure View could be hitting the Windows Phone platform. That way, Pure View may set a new trend, who knows.

For those who lost the last episode of the PureView story, here is a recap. The Nokia 808 PureView features a crazy 41 megapixel camera on its rear just to give you crystal clear stills and videos, may be better than any other consumer camera now available in the market.

However, when it came down to Barcelona, it was running on Symbain Belle pet named Nokia Belle. Looks like Nokia felt that the platform should not be a barrier when it comes to popularising a technology which people will use happily.

So the Nokia top brass has given the conformation that the PureView technology will be hitting the Windows Platform soon.

Well, if you ask our suggestions on Pure View hitting Windows platform, we would surely tell it is a great move. However, we would like to find the gadget more visually appealing, read less chunky as it is now, when it comes as a Windows Phone device.  Anybody joining us on that?
