Street Fighter X Tekken’s PS Vita Characters Coming To Consoles

March 2, 2012, By Christian Davis

The latest fighting game from Capcom pits Street Fighter’s roster against Tekken’s characters in an all our brawl for supremacy. Street Fighter X Tekken — read Street Fighter cross Tekken — came to both the major consoles and Sony’s new PS Vita handheld. Those who decided to pick up the handheld installment were rewarded with 12 additional characters. Naturally the first question was whether these 12 characters would appear on the console counterparts in the future. The answer is yes. Seth Killian sat down with ShackNews and told them that the additional characters would eventually make it onto the consoles. That’s great news for console gamers who wanted to add more fighters to their roster, but now that brings up another question: Are they going to be DLC or is Capcom going to re-release a “super edition” of Street Fighter X Tekken?

At last nights Street Fighter X Tekken launch party in Los Angeles, Killian stated that they’ll “find a way to make sure that console fans are happy as well.”  He didn’t provide any dates regarding the characters or how they’d be transferred over, but if he and the folks over at Capcom want  fans to be happy, then it should be DLC.

The 12 characters are Street Fighter’s Elena, Guy, Cody, Sakura, Dudley and Blanka, and Tekken’s Alisa, Christie, Jack, Brian, Lars and Lei. It’s still surprising that these characters weren’t on the roster from the start since all of them are popular choices in their respective titles.
