Apple iPad 2 users, listen! Notwithstanding Adobe’s earlier claims that the official launch of new Photoshop Touch app for the iPad 2 was scheduled to happen on Monday February 27th, they released the app last Saturday, ahead of schedule.

The reason for the early release of the app is unknown for the time being, and the app is currently available at the App Store for a price of $9.99.

It has been made compatible only with the iPad 2 running on iOS 5, and we may see Adobe widening the horizon to other Apple platforms in the near future.

The Adobe Photoshop Touch has got a myriad of possibilities. According to the official note, the app could be used to “Transform images with core Adobe Photoshop features in an app designed for tablets.

You can combine images, apply professional effects, share results with friends and family through sites like Facebook, and more – all from the convenience of your iPad 2.

Currently, Adobe is in the workshop with a group of six apps for tablets that they announced in October 2011. The company has got lots of strategies for tablets like iPad, but seems like they don’t have much newer products for desktops.

It is speculated that Adobe’s initial plan was to give an extension to its already existing Photoshop for desktop to make it compatible for the iPad.

But later, company redefined their goal, and set it at some dedicated image editing tools for tablets. Adobe Photoshop Touch is the flagship app of the initiative. Hope you would enjoy the new Adobe Photoshop Touch app foriPad 2.
