ZTE Set to Release Eight New Smartphones at MWC

February 23, 2012, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

ZTE is all set to add eight new devices to their smartphone lineup. The release will happen at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), set to open in Barcelona next week.

If you remember, the company had released three tablets earlier this week, and has now become one among the companies releasing the most number of products in a row. This move comes as no surprise, as mobile markets are ever developing without any cessation.

The new handsets are reported to hold multi-core processors inside. These days, we can’t even think of a device, without any such prop under the hood. If once it was a part of luxury, today it has become an essential part of smart devices.

The devices would feature LTE radios and the latest versions of the Android and Windows Phone OS. The latest version of Android OS, the Ice Cream Sandwich, has also become very common in current devices, and so we can expect a newer version soon.

The new announcement, for some of you, would be reminiscent of the Mimosa X, which was announced very recently. Even though the Mimosa X boasted to feature LTE, it came just with HSPA+.

Let’s hope such hearsay wouldn’t hop up in the case of these new devices. But it’s worth mentioning that Mimosa X gets its power from NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor.

In the meantime, let’s also tell you the new phones could reach us by this Monday. With these new devices, ZTE hopes to clinch on to the list of ‘top handset providers’ by 2015. What do you think? Will they achieve the target by 2015?
