Verizon Staffers Seek To Sell Limited Edition RAZR Maxx On eBay

February 21, 2012, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

A while ago we had heard that Verizon employees would be getting limited editions of the Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx. The devices are now being put up for bids on eBay, way before its arrival. This is pretty interesting, right?

The offer is a fascinating one for those who like to collect rare new devices. But then, it doesn’t seem to be a great offer for those who are utility oriented.

Moreover, it is not being given away as a gift – Verizon staffers need to pay some amount to get this device in hand. So, we can’t just blame people if they choose to turn it into cash.

The Limited Edition variant of the handset is patterned in red and black, and the words “Limited Edition” are engraved on its rear, and that makes the device so special.

The VZW employees find the business side of the offer and seek to profit maximum through online bidding.

Verizon employees are hopeful of getting at least $100 extra in cash from the special Droid RAZR Maxx.

The initial bidding price for the handset is $750, while the seller’s demand is $2250. It comes with a promise that the seller would answer any questions regarding the purchase. However, buyers shouldn’t expect the phone to be available until March 2 or March 3 when the bidding ends.

With just 9 days left for the auction, the Droid RAZR Maxx has found bidders so far. But don’t expect the device to go cheap just because it reaches sellers as a Verizon special offer.
