Street Fighter X Tekken Coming To The PS Vita This Fall

February 21, 2012, By Christian Davis

The Playstation 3 version of Street Fighter X Tekken already has Bad Box Art Megaman, Cole (from InFamous), Toro, Kuro, and Pac-Man as exclusive characters. Now, the PS Vita version of the title is getting even more characters added to the roster in honor of Street Fighter’s 25th Anniversary celebration. When the game was initially announced, fans were all wondering which characters would make the cut. There’s a lot of really popular and widely used characters from both fighting games and now that the console roster is already done, the Vita version may have characters that you had hoped to see on the “big screen.”

So which characters will be available on the handheld version of the cross over fighter? From the Street Fighter universe we will have Elena, Guy, Cody, Sakura, Dudley and Blanka.  From the Tekken side the Vita will gain access to Alisa, Christie, Jack, Brian, Lars and Lei. All characters are popular choices from each respective universe and are surprisingly not on the either of the console versions…yet.

Capcom has a tendency to release, and re-release, and re-re release a title. Look at Street Fighter IV for example. We had it’s original release, then Super Street Fighter IV, then Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, and we’re now on Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition 2012. With Marvel vs Capcom 3 we fortunately only got one new version, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. So, don’t be surprised if you see a new version Street Fighter X Tekken that comes with more characters. Or maybe we’ll simply get the characters as new DLC.
