February 20, 2012, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

We have been hearing lots about the next release from Archos, and it has finally been unveiled. Archos’ new product under their tablet lineup, the Arnova 8b G2, has a slew of surprises hidden in this device for you. The absence of a navigation key is just one.

The tablet arrives with Android 2.3 Gingerbread initially, and later on, it would be integrated to work on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.  The 8-inch 800 x 600 pixel display features a capacitive touch screen, which is smoother in operation than an ordinary resistive type screen real estate.

The Arnova 8b G2 lands with slight variations to its predecessor, the Arnova 8 G2. The latest member in Arnova family is equipped with a 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 single core processor supported by 512 MB of RAM.

The device offers a choice between 4 GB variant and 8 GB model, based on internal storage space. If you need more, you can further increase the storage capacity by means of microSDHC memory card.

The device is not short of advanced features. Archos Arnova 8b G2 tablet sports 802.11b/g Wi-Fi connectivity, and has a camera at its front. It also has a microphone, G-sensor, and speaker, which are very common in contemporary devices.

The device offers 3G connectivity through USB stick and USB host cable, to those who want it.

However, we have no words on the time of arrival or the price of the Arnova 8b G2 Tablet. As and when we get more info on the tablet, we will let you know. So, stay tuned.
