Let’s Now Talk About a 7-inch iPad

Who doesn’t know the Apple iPad is an awesome device? But in case you had a tiny little problem with the 9.7 inch screen of the iConic slate, the news of a smaller iPad might have caught your attention the last time rumors made their rounds in October.

The supply chain is talking about a smaller iPad again folks, this time about in the line of an 8-inch class screen.

We now hear that suppliers have shown Apple samples of a device with an 8-inch class screen. And the suppliers include AU Optronics and LG Display.

The previous rumor pegged the screen at 7 inch, with the device supposed to give the Amazon Kindle Fire a tough time.

Every time a rumor comes up, we do give an idea of what would happen if it turns out to be true. So as tradition follows, a smaller iPad would be a big addition to the tablet line from Apple, which does offer pretty much everything else except variety in its tablets.

In case you are thinking otherwise, oh come on! Differences between models are limited to storage capacity and to networking (Wi-Fi only or Wi-Fi with 3G).

All that being said, let’s not forget the rumored iPad 3, which is expected to come with a 9.7-inch screen but boasting a much higher resolution than the iPad 2. Word has it that the device will be announced in March.
