LG Game Plan for MWC 2012 Revealed

February 14, 2012, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

The New Year, year after year, is always more fun for gadget freaks, thanks to CES and MWC. Yes, we know you have had an awesome CES last month and now the wait is for the Mobile World Congress.

As the wait would stretch for some more days, we thought of offering you a little preview of what LG could possibly be flaunting at the show.

The company has sent out invitations for the press to check out their ‘New Revolutionary Smartphones for 2012’. So, the assumption is that at least a couple of these will be announced soon.

Quad-core is the buzzword now and LG is not staying out of the game, at least not with something like the LG X3 up its sleeve. The Android 4.0 powered smartphone is expected to have NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 quad-core chip under the hood, along with a 4.7 inch display with 1280×720 resolution.

It also features an 8MP rear camera, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, 16GB of internal storage space, and a massive 2,000 mAh battery. The 9mm slim device is said to have NFC support, HSPA+ radio and 4G LTE.

Rumor has it that the device won’t hit the stores until the third quarter of 2012.

Next up is the Optimus 3D 2. It’s rumored to feature a 1.2GHz dual-core chip from Texas Instruments and a 4.3-inch NOVA display along with dual 5MP rear cameras for 3D photo and video, 8GB of internal storage space, and Bluetooth 3.0.

It’s also rumored to have a sub-10mm design, NFC and Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board and not Android 4.0. Oh well.

The LG Optimus Vu seems to be a competitor of the Samsung Galaxy Note. The device is rumored to have a 5-inch display which includes 4:3 aspect ratio, which makes it perfect for viewing PDF files, documents, and digital content.

That’s all for Android. The LG Miracle is rumored to have a four-inch WVGA NOVA display, 8GB of on-board storage space, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a VGA front-facing camera, a 5MP rear camera, an HSPA radio, and Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system. So that’s the Windows Phone device from LG.

There’s no word on availability or which of the carriers will offer these bad boys. Barcelona will have more to say.
