Call of Duty Elite 2.0 Already In Development

February 13, 2012, By Christian Davis

Well, that’s strange. Another Call of Duty Elite is already being produced and the current one still isn’t working completely as planned. Call of Duty Publisher recently stated that in November, we’ll be receiving an improved relaunch of Call of Duty Elite. “We’re already hard at work on Elite 2.0, with several innovative features being developed to work hand-in-hand with our new Call of Duty release.” I think it’s quite obvious why they’re going to be doing such a massive update.

I’ll break it down for you with my unbelievable detective skills: Modern Warfare 3 released in November, Call of Duty: Black Ops was released in November, Modern Warfare 2 was released in November, and Call of Duty World at War was also released in November.  Notice that trend here? Each year there’s been a new Call of Duty title released in November–once from Infinity Ward and the other from Treyarch. Since Modern Warfare 3 just came out from Infinity Ward that must mean that Treyarch will have a Call of Duty title out this November as well!

Accompanying the release of the new Call of Duty title (I’m betting $50 that it’s Black Ops 2) will be an upgraded Call of Duty Elite service. Since the content season for Modern Warfare 3 ends in September, you’ll have about two months to play the last maps before moving onto the next ‘Of Duty’ venture and will probably have to spend another $40-$50 to become a premium member again.

However, Activision plans to launch “additional features in the next 60 days” for the current Elite platform. By “additional” I think they’re referring to the clan matches that were suppose to be there already and possibly the mini series.

I’m merely speculating though.
