You Get To Fight As Gaming’s Worst Megaman In Street Fighter X Tekken

Fighting game fans have been upset at Capcom for a long time now thanks to their lack of support for their favorite prepubescent blue bomber Megaman. Cancelling Megaman Legends 3 was just the tip of the iceberg as they also excluded the character from the fast paced fighting game Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. Though Megaman X was included as an alternate costume for his buddy Zero, fans took that as adding more salt to the wound.

Last week, there was a trailer released showcasing new exclusive characters for Street Fighter X Tekken. At the end of the trailer there were two silhouetted characters that looked very similar to Pac-Man and Megaman. You’d think the fans would be ecstatic to see Megaman back in action right? Not at all. Capcom decided to go with the American box art Megaman, what many consider to be the worst Megaman in gaming’s history.

Of all the iterations of Megaman, why this one? Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono was asked via Twitter that same question. He responded with this:

I consulted with Mr.Megaman(his name is Mr.I…) about it 1 years ago.Its result! ;D

We’re speculating that “Mr. I” is Keiji Inafune, Megaman’s creator. Strange that he would have chosen this version especially since that’s the least favorite of them all. Along with seeing Megaman in action, we also see Pac-Man handing out ass beatings thanks to some mechanical assistance.

Here’s the trailer below. Let us know what you think in the comments. Oh, and sorry Megaman fans.
