When it came to naming its latest jet carrier, Virgin America had nothing to think twice being the first air carrier in the country to offer fleet wide Wi-Fi for its passengers. They made it a point to honor Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, by naming the new flight in his name.

Basically an Airbus A320, this plane now has the popular Steve Job quotation – stay hungry, stay foolish – put on its nose.  The name was found through an internal plane naming competition conducted among the employees of Virgin America.

One of the employees suggested honoring Steve Jobs by giving his famous quotation as the name of the plane. Richard Branson, the tycoon behind Virgin America, adores Steve Jobs as the best entrepreneur he ever heard of. This adoration is also learnt as a major reason for the flight operator to pick Steve Jobs quotation as the name of the flight.

It seems naming the carrier after Steve Jobs who has revolutionized the gadget world and the present popular gadgets very appropriate because Virgin America is the only carrier service in Silicon Valley to offer such cutting edge technology to its passengers.

Besides the fleet wide Wi-Fi, the operator has implemented touch screen entertainment at every seat in its new set of airplanes. Passengers also can have the comfort of charging their devices, since every seat in these air craft will have a power outlet for the passenger use.

Within a matter o few months, Virgin America passengers will have more reason to be happy, since the carrier is planning to offer Gogo’s ATG 4 service, which is often hyped as next generation.

The implementation is expected to increase the Wi-Fi capacity offered by Virgin America at least by four times than the current performance experienced by the passengers.
