Street Fighter X Tekken Could Have Had Master Chief And Marcus Fenix

The upcoming Street Fighter X Tekken game is going to have quite a large roster. Consisting of Capcom’s Street Fighter, Namco Bandai’s Tekken Characters and special appearances from Playstation’s exclusive titles such as Infamous, one should wonder where is all the Xbox love? It may pain you to know that Capcom did have plans on adding some of Microsoft’s characters to the fighting game cross over but, because of Microsoft, they will not be featured in the game. In an interview with Xbox360Achievements producer Yoshinori Ono discussed how they were not able to successfully negotiate exclusive characters with Microsoft, which is extremely unfortunate.

“We do have the exclusive characters for the Sony platform. We have Cole, the two Sony cats, Kuro and Toro. But basically for the Xbox 360, we were in discussions with them (Microsoft) for which character to put in as an exclusive, but we weren’t able to decide on a character because of differences in timing and things like that,” Ono told X360A. “So unfortunately for Street Fighter X Tekken, only the PlayStation family will be getting the exclusive characters, but it’s something we wish could have happened. It’s just too bad, basically.”

Ono would have wanted to include Marcus Fenix or Master Chief into the fighting game. Thought they may be strange additions, we’ve seen Halo’s Spartan enter the ring with Dead or Alive 4. The addition of Spartan-458 (Nicole) was surprisingly fun and the fighting style fit perfectly.

For those who have been trying to decide on which version of the game to get, this may be the deciding factor.
