Mortal Kombat Coming To PS Vita

January 17, 2012, By Christian Davis

Fighting game fans are certainly going to have a great time with Sony’s new handheld, the PS Vita. They’ve got Ultimare Marvel vs Capcom 3, Street Fighter X Tekken being developed for the PS Vita, and now there’s NeatherRealm Studios’ fantastic Mortal Kombat coming to the portable this Spring. If you’ve been dying to see gut cringing X-Ray moves on the go, your prayers have been answered.

NeatherRealm is dedicated to delivering “an experience designed specifically for on-the-go gaming.” That includes new content and gameplay features specifically for the new handheld device.

There’s still a lot of information missing though: Will there be online play? How will the team utilize the touch controls on the back of the handheld? Will we get PS Vita exclusive characters in the game? The announcement is rather light on the juicy details but we’ll be sure to update you as soon as more information is released.

Creative Director Ed Boon states that the team is committed to providing an equally compelling experience as the console version and that’s expected. NeatherRealm Studios did a phenomenal job with Mortal Kombat, reviving the entire series and making one of the most fun fighting games we’ve played in a while.
