[UPDATE]Max Payne 3 Release Date Delayed; Coming In May

January 17, 2012, By Christian Davis

Update: In addition to the release date being delayed, Rockstar has extended  the deadline for pre-ordering the Max Payne 3 Special Edition which comes with 10″ Collectible Max Payne Statue, Original Still Life Art Prints, Bullet Keychain, Classic Multiplayer Character Pack, Disorderly Conduct Multiplayer Weapons Pack and Official Soundtrack.

We’ve finally got our first bit of “bad news” for Rockstar’s Max Payne 3. If you were expecting the game to be here this March, you’ll have to wait a tad longer now. Rockstar announced that the slow-mo third person shooter has been pushed back until May 15th for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360(May 18th internationally) and May 29th for the PC (June 1st internationally) .

Yes, delays on upcoming titles do in fact suck. Though if this means the team can take more time to polish and work out all the little issues with the title, then I’ll take a short two month delay rather than a game that is rushed any day.

In Max Payne 3, our protagonist is brought into the corrupted world of SãoPaulo, Brazil. Working as executive protection for Rodrigo Branco, Rodrigo’s wife get’s kidnapped and it’s up to Max to get her back.

Along with the new story line comes multiplayer, a first for the series. Of course, when single player games decide to add multiplayer, you naturally raise an eyebrow. We’ll have to wait and see how multiplayer in Max Payne 3 works out but hopefully it’s a nice addition and not something we’ll soon forget.

Who plans on picking up Max Payne 3 when it’s released this May?
