Apple 42-Inch Plus TV Rumored to be En Route

We may not have seen Apple introducing its TV set in the market yet, but we definitely have had many rumors that it is planning to try making its charm work in the screen space as well. Latest of them reports that Apple is looking at a 42-inch or larger LCD TV with built-in Wi-Fi.

According to a report from USA Today, an unnamed man revealed the information, who also said that Apple VP of industrial design, Jonathan Ive, has a slick 50-inch TV in the company’s design studio. Earlier reports of the TV set included screen sizes of 32, 50 and 55 inches.

Last week, Digitimes claimed Apple was in the process of ordering components to build 32-inch and 37-inch TV sets, which would go on sale in the second half of this year. However, USA Today reported that there is no evidence of Apple ordering LCD panels for the set, which is at least a year away, according to DisplaySearch analyst Paul Gagnon.

If Apple intends to offer TV sets, it would come with all the content power, if not more for potential cord cutters. The App Store may not stay out of this as well.

According to Digitimes report, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak anticipates the company to venture into the TV set business, since he expects the living room to remain a center for family entertainment, and that touches on all areas of consumer products that Apple is already making.
