This Could be How US Army Helicopters of the Future Would Look Like

December 21, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

The world knows that the idea of a helicopter came up when there was the need for flying vehicles that can land on smaller areas and can take off without a runway.

Helicopters have been used for purposes ranging from medical missionary travel to deploying Army men in foreign lands.

Now, the US Army is coming up with new ideas that would make the helicopter the most powerful soldier in its line up.

The enhancements range from design to communication systems that can be incorporated in the flying machine. The designs are being altered for improved stability, high cornering speeds, enhanced stealth mode and to build camouflage as much as possible.

Though the Army hasn’t revealed anything with regard to the sensors, it is certain that sensors that will be used in the helicopters from now on will be state-of-the-art and will aim at maximum productivity.

The target acquisition methods are also being upgraded, along with reduction of weight of the helicopter so as to reduce the over all size of the unit.

The new redesigned Army choppers will also be incorporated with automatic flight modes in times of attack or being attacked.

These advancements come thanks to the contributions from the communication engineers.

Look forward to the day when the Army will have their copters defend the country in a better way.
