Folks, this is something that could interest you. Amazon has brought in some surprise by announcing a new deal. The online retailer is now giving away the HTC Rezound at a price of $149.99 on contract. Aren’t you surprised?

HTC Rezound, the Android Gingerbread smartphone released back in November, comes on Verizon Wireless and was actually priced at $299.99. This new discount means the phone can be yours at half the price of Verizon offer.

Both new and upgrading customers can purchase the discounted HTC Rezound from Amazon. The retailer promises free shipping within two days from the day of placing your orders, between 3PM ET Monday-Friday.

Here is a brief outline of the HTC Rezound, in case you have missed our earlier reports. The 4G LTE enabled handset is packed with a 4.3-inch HD screen with 1280 x 720 resolution, 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB built-in memory and a pre-loaded 16GB micro SD card.

An 8-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash and 1080p video recording and a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter for video chatting are integrated in the device. Along with the Beats Audio technology, a new light-weight Beats headphone is also added in the handset.

A removable 1620 mAh lithium-ion battery powers the 6 ounce device that comes in 5.08 x 2.58 x 0.54 inch dimensions. Other features include Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Mobile Hotspot, GPS, USB 2.0, HDMI and lot more.

And one more important aspect is that Verizon and HTC have also promised to deliver the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update on the Rezound handsets in the next year.

Amazon hasn’t revealed the closing date of the offer, but we think the counter will be shut when the stock is finished. What are you waiting for?
