After the price cut was announced for the Blackberry PlayBook, the sales of the tablet increased tremendously and went out of stock. The news now is that the discounted PlayBooks are back in action.

Earlier, makers RIM had slashed the price of the PlayBook models by a huge margin. The 16GB, 32GB and 64GB tablets are available at price of $199.99, $249.99 and $399.99 respectively.  Online retailers like Best Buy, Staples and Office Depot are offering the discounted slates at their stores.

Among the variants, the 32GB model comes with the large discount of $350. Whereas, the 16GB and 64GB variants is available with $300 off from the actual price.

Here is an outline of PlayBook that is powered by the BlackBerry Tablet OS. The slate is equipped with 7-inch LCD screen with 1024 x 600 resolution, 1GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM.

It comes integrated with two 1080p video recording HD cameras: a 5-megapixel rear shooter and 3-megapixel front snapper.

Apart from the 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity, the tablet supports micro HDMI port, micro USB, GPS and much more. The 10mm slim device weighs just 425g.

The advanced multitasking tablet is lacking features like native e-mail, calendar and contacts applications. The operating system does not have many third party apps, when compared to other platforms.

So the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet is back. Going for one at least now?
