Nikon D800 Leaked Specs on the Roll

December 19, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

There have been enough of the Nikon D800 rumors to get many of you waiting for the shooter. But we never knew for sure when it will be coming or what exactly it will come with.

But thanks to the guys over at Nikon Rumors, we can now be 99 percent sure about the specs. The Nikon D800 will feature a 36-megapixel sensor which is capable of shooting photos at a whopping 7,360 x 4,912 resolution, and video of 1080p (30 / 25 / 24) and 720p (60 / 30 / 25 / 24).

The shooter will be coming with 100% viewfinder coverage (something that would bring you joy besides the pixels!) and improved 51 points AF with face recognition. Then there’s the built in GPS, CF+SD memory card slots, USB 3.0 and uncompressed HDMI video out, like the much talked about Nikon D4.

It is also expected to pack the Nikon Expeed processor, the one used in the 1 series shooters. And the screen will be larger than 3 inches, which, as guesses go, is homed in on 3.2 inches.

No word on the price tag though. The Nikon D800 might rattle up ¥300,000 in Japan(which is $3,900 on American soil).

Well, some might not find it quite impressive, but I say lets wait for it to snap.
