Asus Transformer Prime UK Roll Out this January; Notebook Dock Comes Part of the Pack

Asus has confirmed the release of their new Transformer Prime Android tablet in the UK in January 2012.

The tablet, however, comes in a package which includes a notebook dock and so customers will need to get dock too if they intend to buy the slate.

The UK edition of the Transformer Prime tablet is said to be limited to the Wi-Fi model.

This piece of equipment features a 10.1 inch screen and is powered by NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 3 processor. The tablet is set to run on Android 3.2 platform, at least till the roll out of Ice Cream Sandwich update.

The Transformer Prime tablet has an internal memory of 32 GB, and can extend that further using a microSD card. The device also carries a microHDMI port for the trouble free transfer of digital data.

The tablet comes sporting a price tag of £499 (around $774) in the UK markets. The price includes that of the tablet and the notebook dock, which – as we said – is in the package.

The UK customers have the option of picking  champagne gold or amethyst grey shades, according to their taste.

In the US, the tablet and the dock come separately, with the former costing $500 and the latter $150 – which seems more economical and convenient.

Although the Transformer Prime tab seems set to start a trend in 2012, the price is way higher than its rivals in the market. The price factor could deter many buyers away from the tablet.

Are you someone who really wants to go for it?
