Modern Warfare 3 Title Update And Hot Fix Notes Detailed

December 12, 2011, By Christian Davis

I’d be willing to be my left kidney that you’ve been playing Modern Warfare 3 on a daily basis. Like with all Call of Duty’s after a short amount of time you start to notice some of the problems with the game’s multiplayer.

Lag issues, weapon balancing, spawning points, etc… Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games are well aware of the issues and are already in the process of fixing them. Creative Strategist for Infinity Ward, Robert Bowling, listed all past and present title update notes and hot fixes. Odds are, you’ll agree with just about all of these fixes. Primarily fixes to exploits and nerfs of some weapons. It’s clear that the development team is trying to make this one of the most balanced Call of Duty’s to date.

If you signed into Modern Warfare 3 today (I’ll bet both kidneys you did) then you probably got an update today. What did this update contain? Hit the jump to find out all of the changes.

Here is what the update you received today changed:

  • Fire rate normalization for Assault Rifles with undermounts
  • FMG9 Re-balancing (Nerf)
  • Akimbo FMG9 Re-balancing (Nerf)
  • Fix for Shotgun’s with Extended Mags (Prevents them from shooting more pellets than intended)
  • Type95 Re-balancing (Nerf) – Reduce hipspread.
  • Fix for ACR with Red Dot / Shotgun
  • Fix Type 95 bug related to dropping it.
  • Fix map exploits on Dome

I agree with just about all of these. Any exploit obviously needs to go and especially with FMG9s. With these welcomed changes, Creative Strategist at Infinity Ward Robert Bowling also listed the upcoming patch notes that they’re discussing and are currently in development. These can be found below:

  • Updates to the Spawn system
  • Further “lag compensation” or “host advantage / disadvantage” updates plus ability for on-going hot fixes based on feedback.
  • Default :30 Round Start timer for System Link only, while looking into adjustable timer for System Link games for Competitive Play.
  • Options to allow System Link players to ‘unlock all’ for competitive play in System Link only.
