Verizon Galaxy Nexus Release Gets Pushed Further; Not Coming This Friday

December 8, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

It seems Verizon has different plans for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus! As you all know, we were expecting to see the 4G LTE version of the Galaxy Nexus on Big Red’s network on December 9th.

But the disappointing piece of info that comes our way is that the world’s first Android Ice Cream Sandwich device will not be released on the rumored date.

The spotting of Galaxy Nexus accessories at Verizon stores just days ago was considered as a preparatory step for the handset’s release this Friday.

Now, the delay in launch of the smartphone was extracted from the words of a Verizon Wireless representative. He revealed that Verizon hasn’t made any official announcement of the Galaxy Nexus’s release date on their network.

Meanwhile, we also get to hear that Verizon is facing criticism for not featuring the Google Wallet mobile-payment capability on the Galaxy Nexus. But, the carrier has made it clear that they are still in talks with Google about its technical integration.

Going by these details, it is almost clear that the smartphone will take a few more days to reach customers.

It is expected that Verizon will be offering the 4G LTE Samsung Galaxy Nexus for a price of $299.99, along with two-year contract. The handset, which has been launched in the UK market already, has triggered high expectations in the US as it will be the first Android 4.0 device release in the country.

Are you someone who has been waiting in anticipation for the arrival of the device? Stay cool as we go looking for an exact release date.
