The Upcoming Xbox 360 Update Will Be Slightly Delayed

December 6, 2011, By Christian Davis

Did you sign into Xbox LIVE this morning  just to not be given the update that we’ve been talking about for weeks now? You’re not the only one. The update that is suppose to change everything on the Xbox 360 will be “slightly delayed.”

Major Nelson tweeted the news, noting that the “timing for the Xbox 360 Dashboard update has been slightly delayed” and that we’ll have a status update “later today.” Notice that he said status update and not “we’ll be receiving it later today.” How long are we going to have to wait for the update? A couple of hours or a couple of days? No one knows as of yet.

The upcoming Xbox 360 update will add a slue of new features as well as a fancy new aesthetic upgrade as well. Here’s a list of the features below:

  • New personal and social features including Cloud Storage for game saves  and LIVE profiles
  • Beacons and Facebook sharing
  • Enhanced Family Settings
  • Integrated voice and gesture control across the dashboard and in apps
  • Bing voice search (Available this year in the US, UK, and CA)

The update will also bring in a constant stream of new, customized applications for television,  movies, internet videos, sports, and music.  These will be coming to more than 20 countries starting on December 6th and through the holiday season.
