Asus Eee Pad MeMo is dressing up in the backstage for a stunning performance. When it was first introduced in June, Asus claimed that the device would feature 3D with a remote control that would be used as a phone with a transparent glass display.

However, now we hear they have dropped the 3D feature.

This 7-inch tablet will feature Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and should hit the market by January, next year. This device also includes a Bluetooth “MeMic” remote/phone, with which users can make calls or listen to music or control things in their tablet.

Though not much is available about the functioning of the remote, it is expected to be something unique.

Also, the company has not revealed the specs yet, leaving all you enthusiasts out there is stay in a guessing mode.

Sometime back, we had heard that the device could come featuring Android Honeycomb. But now, Android 4.0 seems to have replaced it.

The delay too was quite unexpected. The company has yet to reveal the reasons for the delay and sudden change of plans.

For some, the Asus’ decision to chuck 3D could come as a disappointment, as they were looking forward to own a 3D device as soon as soon as the device hits the market.

Anyway, it’s only a few months from now. You would soon be able to get your hands on it and experience the look and feel of it.
