Lenovo’s smartphone avatars do not have a very remarkable past. Looking to put that behind them, the electronic giant has now some thing better in their kitty.

Yes, Lenovo has a surprise in store for the die hard fan. They have just revealed a smart smartphone, christened the LePhone K2, which promises some kind of an awesome experience.

The new device touts a 4.3 inch IPS display whose resolution is yet be revealed. The LePhone K2 runs an Android 2.3.5 OS and comes with some amazing specs that could make the handset a must buy.

Under the hood, it boasts a powerful dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8260 chip, 1GB RAM, and 1GB ROM. The camera adds to the hardware charm – the device sports an eight megapixel 1080p camera.

We think the only let down could be is the presence of the Android 2.3.5 OS it runs within – something similar to what we have seen in the S2 and S760.

Lenovo has not yet published the pricing or release details, but we guess there’s is no harm in keenly watching the device roll out to or midst. Or that is what the specs sheet makes us do, even as we think of an Ice Cream Sandwich update.

What do you guys feel?
