Samsung Netbooks to Exit Production Line in 2012

November 28, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

As you are aware, Samsung netbooks are not exactly known for their processing powers.

Word has it that Samsung will stop the production of its 10.1inch netbook line in 2012. Wonder Why? They want to focus on ultraportable laptops and ultrabooks, of course.

An e-mail supposedly sent by Samsung to their trading partners reads thus:

Following the introduction of our new strategy in 2012, we will discontinue our 10.1 inch product range in Q1 2012, for the benefit of ultraportables (11.6 and 12 inches) and ultrabooks to be launched in 2012.

The company had to give up on netbooks someday, as tablets serve the purpose of netbooks more effectively. Apple iPad alone outsells all netbooks put together.

Samsung netbooks came with an attractive price tag and high portability when they were launched.

But their processing power is not having good reviews these days. Also the company is yet to arrive in the ultrabook arena where Acer, Asus and others have contributed with their own competitor of the MacBook Air.

Will you miss the Samsung netbooks when they are finally out of the scene?
