Apple iOS Platform Has the Most Loyal Users, Reveals Study

Apple is still the big winner when it comes to customer loyalty and retention. Have any doubts? Read on.

The latest study conducted by GfK shows that iPhone users are more loyal to the platform compared to users of Android and other platforms.

GfK conducted its study covering US, Brazil, China, Japan, and the largest five countries in Europe, and found that 63 percent of the people had no intentions of switching platforms.

Also, 84 percent of iOS owners plan to buy an iPhone in their next upgrade. The number stood at 60 percent for Android, suggesting 40 percent would ditch it for another platform.

Those who chose Android switched from BlackBerry or another platform, and not the iOS.

Things look worse for RIM, with only 48 percent willing to stick with BlackBerry. Let’s hope the new BlackBerry London manages to get more loyalty.

As for Microsoft, which has been trying to get users to reevaluate their expectations, it did not fare well either.

Things may change, with the Android platform growing fast and Microsoft and Nokia trying to make it big with the Windows Phone platform. We will have to wait and see.

The researchers over at the GfK say those who could provide the most harmonious user experience and foster loyalty were the ones most likely to win. Well, we agree.
