Xbox 360 Dashboard Update Coming December 6th

November 23, 2011, By Christian Davis

Since the Xbox LIVE Preview Program for the upcoming Xbox 360 Dashboard update launched, Microsoft has been pretty quiet about the update. Coming with a plethora of new features, we are all waiting to see when the new, more social 360 experience would make it’s way onto our consoles.

Thankfully, Major Nelson informed us all that the new update will be coming on Tuesday, December 6th. Now we can all enjoy the new functionality and features that the preview program inductees have been enjoying for some time now.

If you don’t know what the update does aside from change things around visually, here’s a list below:

  • New personal and social features including Cloud Storage for game saves  and LIVE profiles
  • Beacons and Facebook sharing
  • Enhanced Family Settings
  • Integrated voice and gesture control across the dashboard and in apps
  • Bing voice search (Available this year in the US, UK, and CA)
Along with the updated on December 6th, Major Nelson also stated that there will be a constant stream of new, customized applications for television,  movies, internet videos, sports, and music.  These will be coming to more than 20 countries starting on December 6th and through the holiday season.
Did any of our readers get into the preview program ahead of time? Let us know what you think of it in the comments below.
