Motorola Xyboard Android Tablet Set for December 8th Debut; Verizon Leaked Document Hints at Arrival

November 23, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

December 8th, in all ways, is going to be a big day for Verizon. The official launch of the Canadian Galaxy Nexus and probably the launch of the US Galaxy Nexus would happen on that day.

And, that’s not all. It looks like Motorola’s new DROID Xyboard tablet will also see the light of the day on December 8th.

According to a leaked Verizon document, this new Xyboard tablet, which will be available in two sizes – 8-inch and 10-inch – will hit the market for sale starting December 8th.

Though the leaked document doesn’t say Xyboard anywhere, it would be noteworthy that the Motorola Tablet label means it is the Xyboard and not the Xoom.

The tablet, which runs Android’s Honeycomb 3.2, would be featuring dual-core 1.2 GHz TI processors, 1GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage with a 5MP/1.3MP rear/front-facing camera. However, these tablets would differ in display size and battery life.

The DROID Xyboard 8 inch version would be available in 16GB and 32GB storage capacities; while 10 inches ones would be available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants. The prices with Verizon, on contract, would start at $299.99 and can go up to $729.99, depending upon your pick.

So tell us which one would you want to pick?
