Are you thinking of getting a gadget as a gift for someone this Christmas?

If you are on the verge of deciding against it, read on and think again.

It looks like the tech enthusiastic Brits have set aside a third of their whole Christmas budget for gadget gifting this Christmas.

According to findings of the UK-based shopping website VoucherCodes, that is £231 out of a £692 budget.

And, 16 percent of the 3000 gadget obsessed Brits admit that they would only be satisfied receiving a device from leading technology brands, such as Apple.

In case you are wondering what all are the top ten most desired gadgets, here they are, in order: Apple iPad 2, Apple iPhone 4S, 3D TV, Amazon Kindle Fire, Amazon Kindle Touch 3D, iPod Nano (4th Generation), Xbox Kinect, Samsung Galaxy, Xbox Live TV, and BlackBerry PlayBook.

Over a third of the nation hopes for an iPad, which apparently costs more than UK’s average budget for gifts, and just 15 per cent wouldn’t mind a Samsung Galaxy Tab, Blackberry Playbook or an HP Touch Pad, which are priced closer to £231. Looks like there’s going to be some disappointment this time.

Duncan Jennings, co-founder of VoucherCodes says:

It seems the Brits will be waiting a long time for the presents they want the most this Christmas and may well have to buy the gadgets they are hankering after themselves. Given the current squeeze on purse strings, we are expecting the January sales to start earlier than ever this year, and gadgets and technology can provide some of the best bargains. Planning your approach to the sales will ensure that you get the most of the discounts on offer.

So, what is your gift budget?
