There’s a pretty high chance that you or some of your friends play League of Legends on a daily basis. The rapidly growing and uncontrollably popular PvP game that has over four million player summoning spells daily.

The developer informed us all that they have now reached 11.5 million active monthly players and just about 30 million registered players globally. That’s more than Blizzard’s critically acclaimed MMO World of Warcraft which is no easy feat.

“The incredible passion and dedication of our players is positively inspiring,” said Brandon Beck, co-founder and CEO of Riot Games. “Our community’s boundless enthusiasm is why they are central to every decision we make at Riot.”

“It’s staggering to think about the fact that over a billion games of League of Legends since launch,” said Marc Merrill, co-founder and President of Riot Games. “In 2012, we intend to deliver even more for our growing audience.”

It’s no surprise that the game is so popular especially when the next season of League of Legends is about to begin, which includes a $5 million prize pool as well as a $2 million prize tournament for the best League of Legends team. I wish I was good enough to even stand a chance at winning that kind of money.
