Apple iPad Tops Most Wanted Holiday Wish List

It looks like Apple will have a roaring business this winter. Apparently the iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone top the holiday wish list of kids aged between 6 & 12, according to a new study by Nielsen Company.

While 44% of the children showed their interest in buying iPad in the next 6 months, 30% showed their interest in iPod Touch and 27% in iPhone. This is, however, not much different from the last year’s status.

In 2010, 31% of the kids in the same age group wanted an iPad, 29% wanted a computer and another 29% an iPod Touch, while 25% a Nintendo DS/DSi/DS Lite. The chart also lists the other favorites of the kids in 6-12 age groups.

Computer, Nintendo 3DS and Tablet computers each claim a 25% interest. The others that follow in the list are Kinect for Xbox 360, Nintendo DS/DSi/DS Lite, Television set, smartphone, Sony play station and Blu-Ray player.

However, the scenario is a bit different for kids over 13 years old. Anyhow, iPad has managed to become the star there too, with a 24% interest. 18% wants to buy a computer in the next 6 months, while another 18%, an eReader.

The survey was conducted in October 2011 and it involved active involvement of 3000 participants. Now do you have kids at home? Are their interests the same? Do let us know.
