Call of Duty Elite Possibly Not Coming To The PC

November 15, 2011, By Christian Davis

Call of Duty Elite has had nothing but a troublesome start so far. With the console version having severe issues that are stopping players from logging in and creating their accounts, the PC installment (which we had a beta of) didn’t initially launch alongside the console version. It’s been delayed indefinitely in the past due to technical issues and now we’re getting word that the PC version of Call of Duty’s social network may not even be launched at all. This is strange given that we originally had it on the PC during the beta.

“We are working towards a universal Elite experience but we cannot guarantee if or when a version will be available for the PC,” Activision said in a statement today through Twitter.

Did Activision underestimate how often gamers would try to access Call of Duty Elite? Seems like it. At least for the console owners, they made up for it by giving gamers an extra month of the Premium Elite Membership. Though we’d like to be able to use the service now.

EA’s Battlefield 3 also has a social networking site and as far as we know, they are not having the same issues or any issues at all though it could be because it’s not accessible on the home consoles and they didn’t advertise for it nearly as much.
