Apple iOS 5.0.1 Software Update Now Available; Promises Fix for Battery Drain Issue

Finally, Apple has come up with a fix for the serious battery issue their iOS 5 devices were facing. The Cupertino-based company has released the iOS 5.0.1 software update that comes with the solution for the battery drain problem.

Along with the battery fix, the update pack comes with many improvements and bug fixes. It removes the bugs with documents in the Cloud and also offers Multitasking Gestures for original iPad.

The iFans in Australia will get improved voice recognition using dictation on their devices.

This software update will work only on the iPhone versions 4S, 4, 3GS, iPad, iPad 2 and third and fourth generation iPod touch.

Apple has made the upgrading procedure simpler by sending the software update via Wi-Fi to the devices. It will take only a couple of minutes to receive the update over-the-air.

As usual, you can also use the iTunes account to download the update via the PC too. You can get the iOS 5.0.1 software update now from the App Store.

To download the 55.5MB package, access the Settings app and select General/Software Update and the available download will appear on your screen.
