Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc and Xperia Acro Stamped with PlayStation Certification

November 10, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Sony Ericsson fans in Japan would be thrilled to hear this. The company has finally got PlayStation Certification for their Xperia Arc and Xperia Acro.

After getting the much-awaited approval, Sony Ericsson is rolling out the updates to both their smartphones.

Xperia Arc will be the first to get this update, and the Xperia Acro will get its update from November 15th onwards.

The PlayStation Certification will enable users to access as well as get compatible with hundreds of games that were available on the Play only.

But there’s a slight snatch – the actual content in the PlayStation Store will not be available before December.

The update will raise the Android version of the smartphones to Android 2.3.4.

Along with that, users will also get a bundle including PO Box4.3, news widgets, Facebook Inside Xperia 2.0, Native screenshot functionality, Xloud and Wireless tethering.

Sony Ericsson will be handing out the update to a number of handsets on NTT DoCoMo, opening the doors to dozens of games that would be tailored and be available specifically for the Arc and Acro. Now all this good stuff is focused on the Land of the Rising Sun.

So if you aren’t housing in the island country, wait patiently. Sony is sure to get the update rolling over the seas fast.
