AT&T Call International VoIP App Announced; Offers Discounted Rates, Wi-Fi Calling

November 9, 2011, By Leo Xavier

AT&T has announced their new application, the “AT&T Call International” VoIP App. As you might have guessed by now, the new app will allow AT&T smartphone customers to make VoIP-based international calls using a Wi-Fi connection from anywhere around the world.

And more importantly calls can be made from your AT&T handset at low/reduced rates.

It appears like the carrier’s per-minute VoIP rates are cheaper than its international roaming plans, and the calls you make to wireline phones will be more affordable than those to wireless phones.

With the AT&T Call International app, which is available to download for free at the moment, you will be able to place calls from foreign countries to the US. The rates of the call will depend on which country you are calling from.

Each month, you will be billed for calls placed through the application directly on your credit card.

If you are interested in the app you can download it from Android Market, BlackBerry App World, or the iPhone App Store.
