Call of Duty Elite Having Launch Issues

November 8, 2011, By Christian Davis

I don’t understand how this consistently happens with popular franchises. Each and every year you sell games that sell faster than anything on the planet and you don’t have the server capacity to handle it. It happened with Battlefield 3 with players experiencing severe lag and game drops.

Now it’s happening with Modern Warfare 3 and their new social networking service, Call of Duty: Elite. Players are having issues logging into the very popular social networking site. Activision states that they  underestimated the amount of players signing up for Elite.

“Registration requests for our new live service Call of Duty Elite are exceeding even our most optimistic expectations, which is creating a bottleneck and some players have not been able to register, said Beachhead Studios’ Chacko Sonny in a statement. “We have already registered hundreds of thousands of players and we are working around the clock to increase our capacity as quickly as possible.”

Great to know that they’re working on it and quickly. Sonny went on and said that gameplay data is safe and whenever you choose to register for Call of Duty Elite, your data will show up accordingly.

Who was able to get into the social networking service? Are you having problems with Call of Duty: Elite? Let us know in the comments.
