AT&T Motorola Atrix 2: A Quick Review [Video]

November 4, 2011, By Leo Xavier

The Motorola Atrix 2 smartphone on AT&T’s network, which was unveiled at CTIA 2011 in San Diego, appears to be a worthy successor to the Atrix 4G smartphone that came out earlier this year. We got a chance to play with the new device and we are expecting it to become a popular device for many tech fans out there.

Just to remind you, the Motorola Atrix 2, which runs the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, comes equipped with a 4.3-inch qHD display, 1GHz dual core processor, and 4G connectivity.

It also boasts an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p video capture, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of on-board storage.

The first thing we noticed about the handset is that it is very comfortable to hold in the hands. Measuring in at 4.96 x 2.59 x 0.40 and weighing 5.18 ounces, the phone can slide into any pocket comfortably.

The large capacitive touchscreen dominates the front of the device, and on the back side there is plastic backing with a textured rubber coating that feels good holding and also adds grip.

The display is stunning with sharper and crispier images and texts. We enjoyed vibrant and deep colors, and fluid videos with no flickering.

With good network performance, a redesigned form factor, improved display quality and many other features, the AT&T Motorola Atrix 2 brings dual-core 4G performance to a new affordable price point. We recommend the $99 phone for those who are looking for performance but don’t want to pay a high price.

Stay tuned for our full review of the device. In the meantime, you can take a peek at the device in the video. And don’t forget to place your most valuable comments in the box below. Are you interested in the new phone? Or are you waiting for some ICS glory?
