Apple iPhone 4S Battery Issue to Be Addressed with Fix in Next Update

November 3, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Remember, we had told you about the battery issue that the iPhone 4S owners were being subjected to? Though the Cupertino-based company hadn’t said anything on that in the past, they have now come up with a potential solution.

Apple is addressing their customer grievances by promising a solution for the battery life issues on iOS 5 devices. The company confirmed that some iPhone 4S customers were experiencing battery life issues on iOS 5 devices.

However, Apple stopped short of commenting beyond that and left the world guessing as to what the exact reason to the problem is.

Apple’s iOS 5 and the iPhone 4S were made publicly available last month and since then, there have been growing uproars on the web and forums about the mysterious behavior of the battery.

Apple’s discussion forum grew to a 214-page in a matter of few days from the users who claimed a lesser battery life on their iPhone 4S.While Apple has kept quiet about the issues, the forums have been filled with postings and potential fixes on the issue. However, it seems that Apple customers were eagerly waiting to hear about the fix from Apple itself.

It is expected that the battery issue fix would be included in the next batch of updates to iOS 5. The iPhone 4S, which is now available in  more than 22 countries,  houses a A5 Dual-Core CPU, 8MP camera, 1080p HD video recording functionality, iOS 5, and a new voice command protocol called Siri.

Apple claims that, at the launch, they have sold out 4 million iPhone units, all in the first 3 days of sale; which is a new sales record for the device.

We just hope the new fix does away with the issue once and for all. Aren’t you optimistic too?
