Apple iPad 3 Release Date in Q3 2012; Upgraded iPad 2 to Arrive Early Next Year

November 3, 2011, By Leo Xavier

There are already tons of iPad 3 rumors flying around on the internet at the present time. It appears like it’s time to add some more. The latest rumor suggests that Apple is planning to come out with more than one iPad design next year.

According to Digitimes, a source that’s considered by many as not always reliable, Apple will release an upgraded iPad 2 and the iPad 3 model next year.

The refreshed iPad 2 is expected to be released in March 2012, while the “real” iPad 3 wouldn’t arrive until summer 2012.

The report suggests that the device coming in March will be just a slimmer, longer-lasting iPad 2. The rumor does not provide us with any hints regarding that Retina Display which was being talked about earlier.

But the rumor is definitely questionable considering Apple’s strategy so far. As you already know, this year the company followed their strategy of updating each iOS device only once a year.

Earlier, there were rumors about a second iPad update going to happen this year. That’s never going to happen. And Apple has no need to rush to the launch of a new model as the iPad 2 is still the “most popular tablet PC product in the IT market”.

We will keep you updated on the matter. So stay tuned.
