Rockstar Reveals Their First Trailer For Grand Theft Auto V; Set in Los Angeles

November 2, 2011, By Christian Davis

We’ve been anxiously waiting for our first glimpse of Rockstar’s trailer for Grand Theft Auto V since they revealed that it was coming to us a about a week ago. Speculation grew each day regarding the location of the latest open world game from Rockstar, with most staying it’ll be in Washington DC or Los Angeles. Those who banked on it being Los Angeles were correct and this looks to be a great representation of the lively city. Los Angeles has been done before in the past with Grand Theft Auto San Andreas for the Playstation 2. This was a fun representation, but didn’t feel like a real Los Angeles.

From the reveal trailer, Los Angeles looks exactly like the real thing and you can even pick out certain locations that you’ve probably been before. It looks fantastic and should get you excited for the game. Though the games main focal point may be Los Angeles, it looks like the game will even expand to other areas of California as well, which is great and gives us an idea of how large the game could possible be. Multiple discs perhaps?

The story of Grand Theft Auto V is also hinted at in the trailer through a voice over. The protagonist was stating that he moved to LA to try and get his life straight, get out of “that kind of work” and just take it easy. Obviously, it didn’t go that way.

Head to Rockstar’s website to watch the trailer or just scroll a bit further to check it out. Are you ok with the city being in Los Angeles or would you prefer it to be in a different location? Let us know in the comments.
