Nokia Ace Spotted at Design Museum in Shad; Large, Slim Device Exhibited

November 1, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Head for the Design Museum in Shad, Thames, and what you would get to see is a new smartphone from the Nokia stables. Quite unlikely a place to spot a Nokia device, right?

But it’s true. The thin rectangular handset with a large screen found exhibited seems to be the much rumored Nokia Ace. The large, slim device appeared along with the Nokia smartphones N9 and Lumia 800.

Though the Nokia 900 a.k.a. Ace was not revealed at the recent Nokia World 2011, the phone is believed to be launched in the first quarter of 2012.

We think this is the Ace, as the phone had popped up earlier with some pictures and specs. However, we will have to wait for the Finnish phone maker to give us a confirmation on that.

Ace is believed to be the Nokia’s next Windows Phone 7.5 Mango handset.

The smartphone sports a 4.3-inch ClearBlack AMOLED screen with 800 x 480 resolutions, 1.4GHz single-core processor, 1GB RAM and an optional 16 or 32GB built-in memory.

The handset packed with an 8 megapixel rear camera with 720p video recording, supports HSPA+ connectivity.

An 1800mAh Lithium-ion battery is believed to power the device. It is believed that the Ace will be seen on the AT&T network by early 2012.

What do you think is this is the Ace or just a new phone from Nokia? Stay tuned to get updated with the Ace’s price and launch.
