Modern Warfare 3 Already Leaked On The Internet Due To Theft

October 28, 2011, By Christian Davis

Videogames being leaked on the internet? That’s almost as common as people fighting over whether Modern Warfare 3 or Battlefield 3 is better. Its happened with just about every major release this year and unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be slowing down much at all. No game is safe and that includes one of the biggest, if not the biggest title of the year Modern Warfare 3. The PC version of the game is already floating around in the seas of piracy. How did it get out onto the web and into the hands of gamers before it’s official release date? According to Venture Beat, someone stole it.

Reportedly, an employee at a shipping warehouse in Fresno California, stole one disc of a two disc set for the PC. The same type of incident occurred last year with Call of Duty: Black Ops and the year before with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. What’s Activision doing to stop this? The same method as before, which happens to be very intimidating.

They’re sending investigators across the country to knock on the doors of the pirates and ask them nicely to delete the file, or they could pay a hefty fine. Someone posted a warning on Craigstlist letting everyone know that they are serious. If he didn’t comply with their demands, he’d have to pay a $5,000 fine and and permanent suspension from online play.

Support the creators of the game everyone. Or they’ll find you.
