Samsung Galaxy Nexus Sports Fortified Glass Instead of Gorilla Glass

Samsung Galaxy Nexus has been ruling headline space ever since the wraps went off the device.  Believed to be gearing up for release on November 10th, the phone has already made enthusiasts wait impatiently with its impressive features.

The latest piece of info we stumbled upon talks about the Galaxy Nexus display. And, before you get excited, let us tell you what we see isn’t so charming. The handset’s 4.65-inch screen will not be covered by scratch resistant Gorilla Glass.

This has been confirmed by the glass manufacturer Corning on their Twitter page. So you will have to handle the handset with more care.

But don’t worry too much, as Samsung has ensured that they have used a type of “fortified glass” to protect the screen.  The company has stopped short of giving us more details about the glass. We can’t be sure how fragile the screen is and how good its protection capabilities are when it comes to scratch and other disturbances.

Meanwhile, just days ago it was confirmed that the Galaxy Nexus screen comes with the standard Super AMOLED display and not the Super AMOLED Plus variant.

These are indeed a concerning matter, but Samsung might be hoping that the Android 4.0 OS and the other incredible features of the smartphone will surely satisfy users. Don’t you also think so?
