October 25, 2011, By Leo Xavier

We know that many of you out there are waiting anxiously to taste a bit of Google’s latest OS, the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Now we have good news for everyone who owns any device in the Asus Eee Pad range. You all will taste ICS glory sometime in the coming months.

As you might not have forgotten, Asus recently gave out confirmation that its Eee Pad Transformer tablet would be getting an update to the latest OS soon.

Now, the company has confirmed that all devices in the Eee Pad series will get the Android 4.0 update.

But unfortunately, there haven’t been any hints about when the update will be pushed to all the gadgets.

Asus said in a statement: “We’re delighted to confirm support for Ice Cream Sandwich on the ASUS Eee Pad Family – our aim is to bring the latest Android update to the Eee Pad Series, but at this time we are unable to set a date for its release. Please stay tuned for more news on our Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade plans.”

As you might know, the Eee Pad tablet series currently consists of the Transformer and the Slider tablets.

Both the tablets, which run Android 3.X Honeycomb, boast a dual-core CPU and have either integrated or detachable keyboards.

The company’s Transformer Prime, which will be officially announced on November 9th, is expected to run the ICS OS. If it does, it will be the first tablet to do so. And the device will also be the world’s first to boast a quad-core Tegra 3 processor.

We will let you know as soon as there is more info available on the update. So stay tuned to this space.
