Motorola Xoom to be First Tablet to Get Android Ice Cream Sandwich Update

October 24, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Motorola Xoom owners can now look forward to something exciting! Good old Moto is bringing in the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS update to the tablets soon. And, if you are a Xoom owner, you will be among the first to get this Android 4.0 OS update in the world.

It was expected, as the past chemistry between Google and Motorola was clearly seen in the Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS debut launch on Xoom tablets.

A trip to the Motorola forum would make it clear that the Xoom devices will be getting the Ice Cream Sandwich update.

Unfortunately, the company hasn’t revealed the date on which the Android 4.0 update will reach Xoom slates.

But, we feel Google will start its updating procedure by next year or may be in this year end, especially for the developer device.

Galaxy Nexus S, 2011 Sony Xperia line up and Droid RAZR are some of the devices that have confirmed the soon to arrive Android Ice Cream Sandwich update as of now.

Meanwhile, Google has now only revealed Xoom as the tablet device that will be getting the Android 4.0 update.

Stay tuned to know Google’s move in the Android OS update scenario and whether more devices are being added to the line up.
