Asus Transformer Prime Specs Detailed; First to Sport Quad-Core NVIDIA Tegra 3 Processor [Video]

Get set to play with the new fascinating tablet that Asus is bringing to your midst.

The new slate will be the next model in the Transformer line up. The Transformer 2, now rechristened Transformer Prime, was revealed by Asus chairman Jonney Shih at the Asia D Conference.

The Transformer Prime next generation tablet will be the world’s first to sport a quad-core Tegra 3 processor. The sleek and slim device comes with a 10.1-inch screen, a mini HDMI port, a full USB port, an SD card slot.

The slate is incorporated with the NVIDIA’s quad-core Kal-El processor that consumes less power and offers an enhanced battery back up. The 8.3mm thin device comes with a drastic change in thickness, compared with its 12.9mm original outing. It will also sport an updated docking keyboard.

It is not clear as to which of the two Android OS versions – Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich – will power the next generation Transformer. But, the device features hint at the possibility of Ice Cream Sandwich OS. The company will be bringing the Android 4.0 devices before the end of this year.

Some of the other rumored specs are 1GBRAMand 32 GB inbuilt memory. The official unveiling of the Transformer Prime might be seen at the November 9 event.
