Samsung ChatON Messaging Service Available Worldwide

October 19, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

After BBM and iMessage, make way for ChatON, a free mobile communication service from Samsung that allows users to communicate instantly using any web-enabled mobile phone.

One thing that stands out is that the service is available across all major smartphone and feature phone platforms.

That means, it is not limited to a single operating system. However, the facility is available only via the Android Market or Samsung Apps as at the moment. ChatON will be open to other platforms by the end of this year.

You will be able to send text messages, picture and video messages for free using ChatON. You can also create animated messages using hand written text, add an audio and choose the background picture.

Other features include Trunk, which is available on each conversation window and keeps record of all multimedia items sent and received throughout the conversation.

There are some pretty cool features like Group Chat and Interaction Rank, to take further control of your social network.

Samsung has said on their official Global Blog that ChatON provides users with a simple way to keep in touch with friends and family anywhere in the world, regardless of device platform.

It enables users to communicate in multiple ways, allowing multimedia content and animated messages, as well as more conventional instant messages, to be shared with friends and family.

ChatON will also come preloaded in Bada smartphones and selected feature phones from Samsung starting this month. Are you waiting?
